EBC Einbremsen

The braking time depends on which the brakes are applied during the first kilometer. As a guideline, EBC specifies 500-700 km (these doubles are brake pads and brake discs are to be re-assembled). During this time, drive carefully and avoid overloading or overheating the brake system. Observing this information prevents the brake linings from vitrifying and extends the service life of your new brake discs and brake linings.

After the time indicated above, the brake discs and brake pads should be ground to each other. Now you can make a final braking. Please perform this procedure on a quiet road with the utmost caution: Brake your vehicle 5 to 6 times from 100 km / h to 20 km / h at medium pressure of the brake pedal. Drive a cool down phase of about 10 kilometers, using the brake, and repeat this procedure. Afterwards drive again a cooling phase. During this process, an unpleasant odor may emanate from the brakes.

Important: Always occur through the cooling phases.

Please also note that you have to brake this brake when the brake pads are no longer available and has already been braked. This is usually the case after 500 to 700 km, but may take longer, depending on the driving style!
